The hippest and hottest must-have gadget right now is none other than the iPod Video, Apple's latest offering. It's a bit on the pricey side, but if you fancy yourself standing out from the crowd, then the cost is definitely worth it. What's not to like about iPod Video? At first glance, anyone can see how it has a lot going for it. It's slimmer than the iPod Photo and has a battery life that's longer than other digital audio players. It also boasts of generous amounts of disk spaces--one is 30 GB, good for 75 hours of video and 7,500 songs, while the other is 60GB, good for 150 hours of video and 15,000 songs.

With such disk spaces, you won't have any reason to complain about not having enough memory to store your entire music library, unless you're planning to run an FM station straight out from a single digital player. With 60GB, you'll most likely end up with extra memory for audio books, pictures, TV shows, music videos, and other media files you can think of.

To top it all off, iPod Video is a very user-friendly product, so much that it actually makes its tag price of $299 look like a huge bargain. After all, where else can you find a portable gadget that can store both your music library and video collection at the same time?

Of course, iPod Video is not without faults, or else no other brand can stand a chance to compete against it. First, iPod Video screen seems to catch more easily than those in previous iPod models. Second, the durability of the hardware is not at its strongest. Third, iPod Video needs to have videos converted to a format it accepts, and software is needed to do just that. However, the software is a bit on the expensive side and not that user-friendly. Fourth and last, iPod Video repair is costly. The repair can cost almost as much as a brand new player. In the end, better weigh all the pros and cons of the iPod Video. If you have the money to buy and maintain such a product, then this player may just be for you.
